I'm confused. How is a job so "essential" that people need to risk their lives doing them during a pandemic, but those same people don't get priority for vaccines?

I teach in a public high school in Wisconsin. We have 2/3rs of the entire student body coming into the classroom next week for in-person learning, and my colleagues and I are having daily panic attacks. Would have gone a LONG way towards easing our mind if the superintendent had waited to bring kids back until teachers & staff got vaccinated... but the school board, superintendent and school administration didn't wanna hear it. Shit is ridiculous. There's a vaccine and you're *still* gonna rush us back into classrooms ? Why ?!
