Have you ever been cursed out by a customer at a job?

A customer once got mad at me for how I handed her her coffee and called me a "stuck up bitch". I was completely taken aback even with my five years of barista experience at that time and immediately had to step off of drive thru to cry. When that same customer came back another time, my boss confronted her, to which the customer replied, "I didn't say she was a 'stuck up bitch' I said she was acting like a stuck up bitch." She was banned from our store after that, but it's stuff like that that keeps me from ever going back to barista life.

I work at Starbucks and these people have been on one. It had gotten worse since the start of pandemic. This woman had an issue with her drink. I attempted to resolve issue and she still wasn’t satisfied. She told me I needed to get a new job if I didn’t like the one I had. This bottom of the barrel bitch had the nerve to get smart with me about her $8 drink which she mention the cost of. This lady accused me of “getting smart” because I asked her what size drink she wanted. Often times I smile, speak cheerfully and people don’t even acknowledge me. I get the most problem from Black people. I love my people but they are the main ones trying to dog folks in service positions. A few months ago a customer came in to yell at my coworker because my coworker couldn’t hear her in the drive thru. I said this last week and I stand by the promise of clocking out and clocking a bitch if they get out of line.

I didn't get cussed out but got racismd instead. I was working at a sporting goods store while in college and this white couple decided that I didn't know how to figure out percentages. The store was having a sale and it had an old register that didn't do that so we just used calculators and paper. Racists decided I didn't know what I was doing, so I called the white girl coworker over to confirm my math. She was like, "Yeah she is right," in a kind of what the hell tone. The couple looked at me. I looked at them and said, "Yeah, I know. I got into college somehow. Funny how grade school math works." The couple just stood there looking embarrassed and sputtering. So I asked if they wanted anything else and when they said no, I did my best "Have a nice day" in a tone that they knew that the last thing I was wishing them was a nice day. So they then hustle-walked on out of the store. Mind you that before I called my coworker over, I gave them the chance to check my math themselves and this was after I explained step by step how I figured out the sales price and their final total-twice. smdh.
