As others have pointed out above, the options are *STUPID*. In economic terms (for you), they're disincentives, and misrepresent facts severly.

Economics cant be all bookish knowledge - and you've not factored in that. Neither have you factored how economics gets introduced to people!

I went to an engineering school that had one economics course.

Interesting options-I went study economics till masters and m phil in social sciences, but full of bogus theory and no practicality. I was fought with teachers who taught Marxism, central planning etc my teachers still do not know who was B R Shenoy!

I also thought this question “did you study environmental and ecological issues and how nature works? Did you study the pitfalls of applying economic theories to nature without proper understanding of how nature/ecology works, and how that has messed up the world? ;)”

This is a survey created by a moron, so naturally, the result will be moronic. You fornicating idiot, what about people who've taken economics courses in their Masters degree - MBA school. I am sure you'd like to dismiss everybody's education as 'nothing to write home about' since nobody can beat the omnipotent Atanu Dey when it comes to economics. Go try and create a vacuum around someone's phallus, you neanderthal, and when you finally get some enlightenment after having your rectum violently penetrated on a daily basis, try and formulate a more coherent survey.

Atanu, did you study environmental and ecological issues and how nature works? Did you study the pitfalls of applying economic theories to nature without proper understanding of how nature/ecology works, and how that has messed up the world? ;)

I went to engineering school, and had one course on economics, simple microeconomics with supply and demand curves.
I also went to business school did courses on micro eco, macro eco, and game theory. I think it was nothing to write about

    agree with harshwardhan

The option 2 carries a value judgement about the quality and usefulness of eco course.

Almost trying to say that someone with a degree or PhD in eco will be substantially advantaged.

Your options are not really fair at all.

I did go to an engineering school (IIT Madras) which hardly precludes the possibility of having done any economics courses.

And since your question in the first place was if we had done any economics, the second option which says "nothing to write home about" isn't really fair as it implies that what you're looking at is people who have done more than just a course or two, meaning atleast a degree in Economics, which sort of invalidates your question itself in the first place.
