Just visited AP site and viewed DEATH OF A MARINE : A PHOTOGRAPHER'S JOURNAL - it was beatuful-it was respectful.
Julie Jacobson is a great journalist/photographer.. I believe she had the respect of the men who were actually there. She had THEIR OK to go ahead with the pictures.
I don't believe for one second military families speak for themselves. They are TOLD how to "feel" in the media's eye.
So let's hope maybe,secretly, for the greater good, the family is gracious enough to be willing to be different.
Issues just like this have been known to turn the tides of a war and bring them to an end. Silencing,hiding,closing our eyes ---this carnage will go on and on.
