i havent had time to test this but why not try making your conection offline the buy the box and open it and if its not what u want refresh and try again just dont reconnect until the pet society page is gone like i say it might not work but its worth trying :-)
i am not happy i havnt known about the refresh trick for long and there are still alot of items i wanted to get, i loved this game and i would play every day refreshing boxes then selling the 999 items and making lots of money to spend on a monday when new items come out, but now i wont be able to afford then cus they are way over priced, and it takes for ever to earn coins on hear, now its blocked i will find a new game to play, it seems a lot of people are not going to play anymore or as much so maybe playfish will unblock the glitch, i doubt it but i shur hope so because i loved petsociety but its not going to be much fun being poor and not being able to buy any new items when they come out :(

actually i think the trick is all that makes me still play the game.
think about it! many items sell at some thousands coins,
how many days you have to play to afford just one item? This trick makes me feel comfortable and it's not that easy to get the items you want anyway. comparing to other cheat tricks, it's quite fair way to play pet society happily.
For me, the game loses its charm.

With Playfish "fixing" this glitch i have already found other games that entertain me. So thanks Playfish for ruining Pet Society for me and a bunch of other players i'm sure :(

Yeah, it was A GLITCH. The game wasn't meant to be like that, and you all abused the glitch. The fact of the matter is, they are MYSTERY boxes, it's not a mystery if just keep refreshing until you get what you want. The items aren't rare or even fun to gamble for that way. So stop being babies and get the items the hard way, or don't, I don't care.

very unhappy about the block ...even without the block ..it takes lots of effort to get good stuff from the box..but now??? i will stop playing the pet society..its just ridiculous..some stuff only last for only a week..how do u expect us to collect enough money to buy them...the chance to get good stuff is so low.. *sigh8

With them doing this I guess I will find another game to play. There is no way you will be able to afford the items you want unless you play the game 24hrs a day and I am not going to PAY to buy coins just to play this game with my daughter. All I can say is SO LONG .. I quit

I am pretty upset about the mystery box crap. Pet society is my favorite game and now I don't even feel like playing with it because there is no more excitement to find new, cool items for my pet to collect. Now I have to worry if my pet will get to eat if I decide to waste money on a mystery box with crappy wallpaper inside. Cheap, guys... real cheap.

Before I knew the refreshing trick, I probably buy less than 10 boxes per month because most of them are just crap! Since I learnt the trick, however, I buy at least 20 per week!!! So now I am going to go back to the way I was before (some other people must have to do that too ). I don't see how Playfish can benefit from this change of rule!!
OMG why did they block this??? now it's vain to try to get what u want... i mean u must be very lucky and very rich in pet society... i'm disappointed with pet society now... and also angry because i want so many items from boxes but i cant have them now! i hate all crap you get from boxes such as magnolia wallpaper, pants and all cheap things... i think they should unblock it... or someone finds another trick because in this way it is sooo uncertain to pick up something good from a box...
