The Nazis are singing "The Watch on the Rhine", not the Horst Wessel song.

Casablanca--it is a love story, with 3 very admirable principals, and it celebrates the values of democracy and patriotism over the those of tyranny and racism. Best scene: Victor Laszlo telling the band at Rick's to play "La Marseillaise," while the Nazis sing the Horst Wessel song.

Aside from being not much more than a pumped-up Forties gangster movie, with an added pseudo-documentray look, "The Godfather" glamorizes and sentimentalizes crime and criminal families in a way that is truly repugnant.. The King's Speech is a much better Oscar film.
