Being an Artist and Intellectual of 45, I myself often do find younger women seemingly attracted to 'me'. More than likely, it is because many women are often at a loss to find younger men with any amount of refined intellect. It is fully understandable that Scarlett would / does find 'Penn' interesting, however, I see it as Penn's duty to underscore the truth of the matter on behalf of Scarlett's future, as compared to serving his own interests. It simply can not stand the test of time if the two were to marry. In fact, I would be willing to wager a bet that such an endeavor would only 'end' after the initial period of infatuation wears off---and it most certainly will. I don't understand how so many older men can and do---take advantage of younger women in such matters. To be twice the age of a woman, is simply not doable. Far better, and certainly far more indicative of character that a man such as 'Penn' would / should clarify and shoot for depthful friendship which WILL / WOULD prove to stand the test of time, than to endeavor himself into appeasing his own sexuality which, in essence, is the same thing as selfishness. Oh well. I feel bad for her. But I indeed DO understand the 'trend' of such behavior....
