I've had this very same argument with my good wife. I find it reassuring to see an ex with someone good looking because it means they're in the same dating range as me. And I must therefore be comparable in looks to this new bloke.Whereas my wife prefers to see them with a right munter. I just can't understand this point of view. The only way this would make sense to me is if you're reassured at the thought that you could easily use your superior looks to usurp this new gargoyle and dive back into bed with you ex.
Incidently, my ex's new boyfriends has the looks and personality of a tub of lard, whilst my wife's ex's new girlfriend is insanely pretty and sophisticated.
Come to thing of it: it was probably a mistake to tell my wife that I fancy her ex's finance.
