Wow, that is really excessive. I just don't see the big advantage of getting so far ahead so young. As an upper elementary teacher I would much rather see young children playing and developing problem solving skills through real world experiences.
Love your blog entry "C'mon Kumon" about the NY Times article. Parents know the ABCs and numbers and can teach these to their children through fun, hand on activities. Save the tutoring for calculus.
