I just got it! Zebras are black and white under all those stripes, but it's just hard to tell because the stripes are the same color as their bellies. Simple, actually. lol

Please check on my site, I propose a new look for Zebra's stripes...
You'll find the main four types of Zebra, in Logic order, from the Sea-Horse to the Horse.
This will show you a "writing" on their skin, and convince you, of black stripes on white pattern.
(If it was white stripe on black skin, you could see Donkey, grey skin with white stripe...)

I thought this was a test. Black with white stripes I would guess but I bet books say stripes can be either; depends on the zebra.
