But lets keep it topical, no vendor spiels or marchitecture discussions. I like the content here and if other authors can round it out great. But if it starts to water it down, that would be less than ideal.

Moderating comments is a hard time-consuming job. I wouldn't like you to spend time on that, instead of writing posts.

Yes, but only if they provide expertise beyond what you routinely provide.

I would also say no on the blog itself, however if you are so inclined having a separate forum where you can enter into discussions with others on topics you raise in your blog would be really useful and helpful, however do you have the time?

Seeming you like to appear anonymous anyway, then what's the harm in more anonymous people adding anonymous comments? :)
You will get spam though, so make sure you still moderate comments otherwise you'll be selling Viagra and genuine Rolexes before you know it.

I would suggest no -- I, of course, can only speak on behalf of myself, but in doing so I would venture to say that I subscribe to your blog because I'm interested in hearing what YOU have to say on the subject.
This of course is not to say that others may not have a different area of expertise or a different perspective on a topic you've discussed. In those cases, rather than handing over the platoform of your blog, would you consider doing an open dialogue or perhaps an interview type of format with a "guest" of sorts, without completing turning over control to another author?
Just a thought. I'm a creature of habit. I suspect few people like change, but agree that a fresh perspective is often appreciated and sometimes even needed. I just think there are other and better ways to accomplish this.

But only if not of a purely commercial "we've got the best xxxxx" spamvertizing variety but I wouldn't expect you to allow that anyway...
