I couldn't write everything I wanted to in the Other: space. :) I would call or email (I am so chicken I would email, but a phone call might seem more friendly) and give a two- or three-sentence summary of the reason and ask if she would like you to elaborate or not. If you feel inclined, offer to take her out to lunch or coffee or dinner sometime (your treat) to acknowledge her effort to recognize your mutual friend. Ew, just writing this I have heart palpitations. This would be hard to do. I would definitely continue praying and listening to see if something comes out as the right thing to do.
