I've been thinking about suggesting that you start writing a "True Life Novel". I like this description because it allows for filling in any details you don't know for sure or adding any kind of embellishments that might cause difficulty with a "memoir". I would like you to see about taking the diaries of Grandma Beth's mother and the postcards sent and the other writings and info she has and see if you could put it together with the history of the times etc. Or a series of "short stories" episodes of your life and times and see where it goes. I guess watching the Wonder Years made me think of this approach.
