What is your feeling about clergy re-use of sermon material?

Horrified! That's what we're paying you for, ya bum!

I generally disapprove, but I can see how it might happen from time to time.

Not very happy about it, but I suppose recycling their own work is better than using someone else's stuff.

Well, if it's a good sermon, then I don't really mind where it comes from as long as there's no dishonesty in it (i.e., "I" illustrations that never happened to you).

I get it, the preacher's busy, doesn't matter to me much.

Dude, you really need to steal some better sermons because the current ones are crap.

If the priest is short on time or material - let's face it, some propers offer more than others - then just make it SHORT! I have yet to hear anybody walking out of a church service, particularly an Episcopal Eucharist, saying, "That sermon was just too short!"

Peter's sermon on the day of Pentecost, 521 words including the quotations. Even reading fairly slowly and with expression, it takes less than 4 minutes. And there were thousands of converts!

So my advice as a lay person (albeit one with an M.Div.), "Don't plagiarize. Just abbreviate."
