I went to court because at first they were taking 70 percent of my pay. Then I went and got a court date to have it lowered and to establish joint custody. They lowered it a little saying that is the best they could do and granted me joint custody. I have joint custody but I have my daughter more than she does and I have other children I support that live with me. I don't understand how they can take from my other children who were born first to give to my other child. Basically to me they are saying who cares about your other kids. We want your money and were gonna bleed you dry. What will they do if they push us fathers who do care and are tying out on the streets and make us lose everything. Then how will they get child support then? Is there anyone out there who could help or is going through this? Maybe if we get enough people to stand up and let their voices be heard we could change the laws. We could prevent men that do pay their child support and don't try to get out of it from losing everything they have due to states taking so much money from them. They need to make it to where the mothers have to get out there and get a job as well. It takes two to make a child and it should take two to support one.

i am one of those fathers who was ordered to pay support and i paid until recently when i was disabled with kidney failure and they froze my bank account which makes it hard for me to pay my bills and also get my meds i need for my illness they dont realize they are putting a nail in my coffin by doing this
not all of us are deadbeats i even filed for visitation to my child and the mother slapped me with abandonment charges on a child she would never let me see without a order but yet she still wont let me so who is the deadbeat now i am getting screwed by the system and there are some out there like me that are doing what they are told by cse and they are getting screwed and by taking all the disability benefits means you will have some people like me dying cause they cant get the medication they need to live what the mothers need to do is get off there ass and get a job and stop relying on that monthly check from child support and dont say crap like i have 3 kids and cant afford daycare bullshit i know a woman with 4 kids who worked a job and took care of those kids without child support and state assistance it can be done

So what it sound like to me that deadbeats dont have to take care of there kids.. I'm 1 of the mothers that never received welfare and wasn't allowed because of my income by 100 to much that I made..I think they should pay because it's not hard for them to married someone else with kids and take care of them and leave their kids with receive benefits from government what gives for deadbeats..Sorry I'm 1 that had too do it by myself...SO. Take of your kids so what there adults now we took care of them until...

Oh boo-hoo let's feel sorry for the dead beat parents who don't want to help raise what they created. This is the best thing to happen to child support since lawful enforcement. I have zero sympathy for these terrible parents. Should it go to the state? No, of course not but that is the deadbeats ultimatum - money to kids or money to state.
I am personally raising 2 kids that are not mine and their deadbeat father is over 8 thousand dollars in CS debt. He expects to have parental rights when he wants it (Mind you he comes and goes in their life) but doesn't want any of responsibility that comes along with it. These type of parents are terrible people, they deserve to have much more stiff penalties. If they commit suicide so be it, less crap in the gene pool.

There will be a significant increase in suicides. Which will lead to even less child support paid to the child. And as it was eluded to int he article, a large portion of that money is going to the state, NOT the child. So to wave the exorbitant state interest and fees flag at a man to get him to pay to only find that they still aren't paying should be a hint that they don't have the money to pay. What good does it do to pay the state? This law is in the best interest of the state, NOT the child.
