Do you think it was fair the family was kicked off the flight?

Flying is not an entitlement it is a privilege and along with that comes responsibility. If you cannot control your children you should not fly. What great incentive to appropriately discipline an unruly child!

I saw them on the Today show and they couldn't control their kids. They know somebody in the news business; that's why they are getting so much airplay. I back up the pilot. He did the right thing.

I'm a mother of 3 girls under age 5 and I agree with the pilot. Children need not fly such distances if they can't be controlled. Im sure this wasnt the first tantrum this child had, her parents should have known better. Sucks they had to shell out an extra $2000 but I bet next time they fly the parents will get a grip on their kid

best news i heard all day.. just goes to show you that these new age mothers have no clue on bringing up kids..the mother was probably saying in a little meek voice... be quiet .. shhh be quiet.. that doesnt work. worst thing is that they are probably planning to sue the airline etc.because they were so hard done by..next time throw the kid out at 11000 metres...

I am a parent and I agree with the pilots decision. This is part of the problem with todays society and people that try to explain things to very young children in the hopes of them cooperating. This won't happen children need structure and discipline and to realize that there are consequences for their actions.

those who said no are probably parents. but for the rest of us, whether it's a restaurant, plane, train, bus...nothing is more annoying that listening to a child fuss and the parents say "hush calm down, you need to be quiet shhh inside voice" blah blah. Why should everyone else who paid be forced to listen to this? It's nerve racking. Flying alone racks my nerves, I wouldn't want to be stuck in such a small space listen to a child throw a tantrum for God only knows how long. It may be inconvenient for them, but don't force your bratty or colicky children on us, no one is paying to have to listen to that. Wait til they are old enough to be able to follow instructions before you take them such distances....
