Use a Realtor. They have the scoop on the latest, greatest, and best homes for sale.

Send a text to 59559 to see what homes are available around my current location.

Drive around. I have to see it to know if it's what I want.

Look in the newspaper. They used to advertise homes for sale there. I wonder if they still do...
