Which is better?

Interval training is definitely more beneficial overall. If you keep the same routine for an extended period of time, your body is no longer working as hard to perform. Adding hills, and alternating jogging with fast walking will keep your heart rate and your muscles working constantly, and never settling in at a moderate level of exercise over a long period of time. I learned after several weeks that pace is not nearly as important as duration of exercise. Instead of doing 2 miles per exercise, I do 45 minutes of interval exercise.

Jen, I have been running/jogging/walking every morning since March. I always burn more cals when I do intervals. If you don't have the ap RunKeeper, you should get it!!

I vote it doesn't matter because intervals are good for fitness and so is steady pacing. However most of the fitness world tends to recommend interval training to amp up your workouts. Also...should I sign us up for the 2013 big hit now?
