Should the toddler have to change the way he signs his name?

Yes, the misspelling of 'absurd' is itself absurd.
But the school officials "thinking" (and I use that term VERY loosely) that a letter R (cross your index & middle fingers... that's it) looks in any way like a 'weapon' is worse.
Since these school officials have no common sense, & are only reading rules created by idiots higher up the food chain, they obviously don't need pay commensurate with a job that requires thinking & decision-making.

This world is slowly deteriorating and becoming dumber by the day. What's even more absurd is a newspaper writing a story on it and posting a vote while misspelling "absurd"!
I mean is competence totally gone in our society or what?
Who are these idiots in these school districts, and how did they ever make it to the level they are at today? Between our politicians and people running our schools we have allowed complete incompetence at all levels. Let me tell you something about zero tolerance policies. It's implemented because school administrations know it makes their job easier. Why actually do your job and look into each situation personally and with common sense when you can just use a blanket policy to handle everything. It's complete laziness and we need to stop accepting these policies and start demanding these people do their jobs! Otherwise what the hell are we paying them for?

This is absolutely absurd, it is his name. I'm not deaf but I have a sign name because I have friends that are deaf. I can tell you how to fix it, tell the idiots at that school that they have to change their names. Absolutely unbelievable. Morons
