Yes closing venues at 1am will reduce alcohol related violence as it shortens the amount of time people have to drink and to get "wasted". In saying this I do not think it a fair & reasonable response to the problem as it punishes the majority for offenses caused by a minority. People have the right to go out to party & have fun for as long as they wish. This is what the majority of people are doing & they should not be punished because of the actions of a few drunken louts
