It is about money no concern for residents without power or gas around the stadium, the highway 120 has been closed forcing locals to detour and use extra gas. It was only closed to have crews work all week on traffic signals for roads by stadium for football not for the residents in need of power. I am sure anybody working at the stadium, players, and officials will not need to wait in line 6 hours for gas.

It all comes down to the all mighty dollar over common sense. The NFL and the Networks and sponsors are all concerned about the money they'll lose not about the troubles the storm victims or the local fans face trying to attend this football game, why not reschedule the game towards the end of the season? there again it'll mess up T.V. time slots ,and cost all parties involved millions!

the NFL by playing yhe game are taking resources from people who have NOHEAT NOELECTRIC and have not given atime CBS. THIS makes GODDELL look like scumbag to the people of statin Island and NEWJERSEY

First of all, the Saints couldn't play at home after Katrina because the Dome was essentially condemned. MetLife stadium is not damaged and safe. Secondly, everyone knows the Giants play better on the road so it's not necessarily to their advantage and they'd probably be cool with a neutral location and forfeiting a home game. Finally, our family is season ticket holders for the G-men. Are you going to tell my sister-in-law, who had 6 feet of surge from Raritan Bay rushing through her house on Monday -- condemning it for all purposes and making her family homeless -- that she cannot see her beloved team at home on Sunday? These people are resilient and will recover, see y'all from MetLife on Sunday -- Jersey Strong!!!!

First things first....what happened was nasty and my prayers (and i'm not even all that religous) go out to all of those affected by this. I've got mixed emotions about the game being played. I think all gate receipts should be donated to help the clean up effort, if it is going to be played. For those folks affected by this tragedy, maybe 2-3 hours of' normal' watching their team(s) play will bring some kind quiet out of the chaos.

Forget home games and logistics. Cancel the damn game! The amount of security and traffic are far too costly to the relief effort. Yes, the Saints played a "home" game at Giants Stadium in 2005. No, the Giants aren't " so special." Don't play in Pittsburgh. Don't play in New Jersey. Just let the area recover.

Possibly should be cancelled, marathon was just called off, Move the game either to a nutral location Philly or to Pittsburgh, Probably would be more fans there than are going to show up in NY/NJ. What the heck, say a concession worker can't make it in are they gonna get fired because they're not there due to a super storm. Theres lots more to think about than the game..

I think the game should be played in Pittsburgh...this is totally ridiculous. If the Saints had to give up a home game after hurricane Katrina, why are the Giants special and they shouldn't be made to give up one lousy home game...hurricane Sandy was a catastrophy and I think they can handle traveling to Pittsburgh...at least they can get hotel rooms!!!

Just got off the phone with a friend of mine that is a Giants season ticket holder. He doesn't want to waste the gas it would take to drive to the game and back. 4 hour gas lines near his house. He thinks game will be not be fully attended. Too many other things to worry about.

After hurricane Katrina the Saints were forced to play a "home" game against the Giants in Giants stadium. The Giants basically wound up with an extra game at home that year. Well, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. The game should be moved to Pittsburgh!!

Play the game in Philadelphia - essentially a home game for Giants fans. The Eagles are away.
Steelers will find a Hotel, and Philadelphians can watch a footbal game in theri stadium for a change.

If the Steelers are such wimp/wussies/ other words that rhyme that they can't ride in a bus to a game because it would be "unfair", then they deserve to forfeit. They can play for hours in 100 degree plus weather with 250+ pound linebackers trying to rip their heads off, but a several hour ride in a limo bus with more amenities than Air Force 1 will "be too much of a strain"? I guess we know where the real men are...
As for the "crisis" from Sandy , look at the Gulf Coast and New Orleans 2 days after the last two hurricanes (Katrina and Andrew), and then look at NY & NJ two days after Sandy.

The owners don't give a rat's backside the effects of Sandy on any of the cities, they don't give a rip about the lack of power and utilities, the players, the concession holders, the stadium, the lack of hotels, the lack of transportation and gas, the lack of food, the people who have died, the people who have nothing, they only care about their bottom line.

Same goes for the network doesn't care about anything other than their bottom line.

But hey no matter how made life gets we gotta be entertained!

Wether we like it or not, life goes on and the games and the Marathon should go on. We still played after JFK was assasinated, after 9/11 and we should play after Sandy. Don't make ING out to be the demon in all this, they don't own the streets and if the Mayor believes it can done successfully, believe him.

The distraction will probably be good for the area, as far as the expense, give the ticket holders a partial refund or reduced pricing at the concession stands.

Move the game to Pittsburgh on Sunday . New York does not need a marathon and a game in the middle of this crisis.

I bet all the people that work at the game would like the income.
