Virtual highfive, Jaimie! Really enjoyed your story.

(Ha. I have no idea why my friends are still voting for my story. They all know I withdrew.)

Again, good luck to all the other stories!

Clarifying edit: By "if not likely" I mean that it's completely likely. I should proofread.

Seeing the results of the contest thus far, it seems completely plausible (if not likely) that the multiple votes tactics that caused Matthew Burnside to withdraw from the contest are being employed by my voters as well. With tha said, I am also withdrawing my story from consideration. Thanks so much to all those who cared to vote for my story!

Next month we will be taking some steps to prevent this type of multiple voting. We will still use this polling system for the votes, but we will use some more advanced settings.

    Howdy folks & fellow writers:

Just wanted to say thanks to all who voted for "For Heather" in earnest. However, after discovering some of my friends were employing certain tactics to boost the vote, it just didn't feel right remaining in the competition. So, yesterday I respectfully withdrew from the contest.

Good luck to all of you! It's been a pleasure sharing this issue with so many talented writers.

    Sincerely,
    Matthew

It looks like both "For Heather" and "A Ouija Board..." are getting real popular real fast...

Ms. Jaime Eubanks story has SKYROCKETED into the lead. I don't know what she's doing, but it's working (as long as it's not sketch!).

Wow. That Ouija Board story sure got real popular real fast!
