I am a proud graduate of Dixie College. I loved the years I spent there and take great pride in being a Rebel. NEVER in all my time at Dixie did we or anyone connected with what we did or what we were called were anything racists. We loved the name of Dixie because that was what the founders named this great spot. The Dixie Spirit that I grew to love was a love, a deep respect for those people and I felt like I was adopted by the people at Dixie. Why do we always assume that there are racial implication to this or that name. The name Dixie needs to stay in the name of this great school because it was founded by great Americans that called the whole area Dixie. The price they payed to live and develop this area deserves the name to stay.
