I believe its totally reverse here. I think Jef was true to Emily and she betrayed him just as his brother first reported seeing her texting some big hotshot sports figure. I think Emily uses her daughter to make herself look more "respectable" but she is the one that is out for the fame. Dont think she can really settle into an average daily life with Ricki. She wants the spotlight and the fame and fortune that goes with it. Only one word to describe her "PHONY"
