Yeah I've been a little disappointed with the starters for the last few generations, except Oshawatt. That was one of the coolest water starters in my opinion. I am really looking forward to the 3D environments. That will really expand the entire Pokemon experience, plus it will give me a reason to dust off my 3DS.
As excited as I am for the new Pokemon game, I'm a bit disappointed with the lineup of starters. Not since Ruby and Sapphire have I thought they looked this strange. Their evolutions might look better, but I think Game Freak's been running out of design ideas for a while now.
That said, I'm greatly looking forward to the first 3D game in the series!
