Last I checked this country runs on democracy not dictatorship !!! Bloomberg has to much control it is not his right to tell ppl how to live their lives if he's bored then he should tackle real issues ! Like ppl being homeless , and education which so far still sucks!!!!!

The mayor cannot control what we do it's our constitutional right freedom of choice! Im a 33yrs.old women and have 5 kids and weight 99lbs. I have drank caffeine sodas for more than 18 yrs 2-3 cans a day and I'm not obese because I live a busy lifestyle. That is a major factor in obesity How active you are. Banning drinks will not stop obesity when theirs plenty of food that causes obesity and people who are not active so what's next ban all food? If he wants to do something to help keep people healthy then try to lower the price of fruits and vegetables and healthy foods and mabey people might buy them. It's cheaper to buy sugary junk food than healthy things and in a world where people are struggling to pay bills they tend to buy cheaper food even if it is not the healthier options it's what their income can afford. So Mayor rethink you ban and instead make healthy food easier to access.

Screw Bloomberg and similarly-minded people who try to dictate what people can and can't do vis-a-vis their health when it doesn't affect anyone else (like doing drugs does). What's next? Ice cream? Thank Gosh that the judge struck down that entirely inappropriate new law.

Bloomberg is forgetting this is a free country. I don't think he has the right to dictate how much soda anyone drinks... If he continues I will now go over the bridge and give New Jersey some more business. They get my gas, clothes, cigarette and now my sugary drink business.

It is dumb that the government or world thinks they can just control people like if people are getting fat so what that is there decision. Who are you to tell me what I can & cannot drink? This world is so dumb I hope the government actually reads this & pass this message on to Michelle Obama to I have like barely any food & Why do I have to take a fruit with my lunch? This world is so controlling. To everyone who says yes can you explain why? If everyone is skinny everyone will be almost the same. We were all made an original don't die a copy...
