If the NFL passes this STUPID proposal, then it becomes flag football. Pathetic.

I agree that players and former players should make rules. It is an instinctual act for a RB to lower his shoulder before contact and guess what, if he lowers his shoulder, he lowers his head. Some of the people proposing this have not only never played the game at the professional level, they never played the game at ANY level. I really hope this is not approved.

Why don't they just ban all tackling and make it a flag football league? I really get tired of a group, that is made up primarily of people who have never played the game on a professional level , telling us how they will change it to make it better and safer. If they want to do that make-up the rules committee of former and existing players and let them review the rules.

This is what we get in our quest to remove all risk and pain from our lives. Welcome to liberalism. Nobody should ever have to hurt or to be poor or struggle at all ever. It's like the well meaning child who helps break open the shell of the hatchling only to watch the hatchling die because some do-gooder interfered with the natural process of life. The NFL is ruining their product.

Why not ban tackling altogether ? Crazy !

Why doesn't the NFL ban RBs from doing the "offensive face mask pushoff" ? The defensive guys can't touch a face mask, get running backs get away with pushing off to the face. Isn't that 'unsafe' ?
