I was a resident in June of 2013, and I was overwhelmed with the thoughtfulness of this program. Offering technical classes and access to all of their products created a perfect environment for experimentation. Having comfortable living quarters in the same facility as the studios encouraged long hours of work. Barb, Emma and Mark Golden were involved in helping each resident attain their goals...they even went so far as to experiment with the creation of new products! They were amazing hosts, so helpful and welcoming. Having access to all of the technical expertise of the Golden Paint staff was a huge help while getting to know new products and techniques. For all the residencies I've attended, this one promoted a balanced atmosphere of seriousness and play in the studio. I would highly recommend this residency to anyone that is driven in their work and open to experimentation with new media.
