    To whom this may concern:

    Hello and good day.

I am contacting you in hopes that with your help we can shed light on a situation here in the Cuyahoga Falls School District, that has gone on far too long.

Here is the background on me:

I live in the City of Cuyahoga Falls; my fiancée and I have five children (in total) currently in the school district. My daughter is a sophomore at the high school and a former student from Bolich Middle School, my son and fiancée’s son currently at Bolich in eighth grade. My fiancée’s youngest two children are in Richardson elementary.
After dealing with teachers in this district for many years and hearing some of the same situations other students and parents are experiencing, I am finally
stepping forward to hopefully put an end to the bullying being done by teachers at Bolich Middle School (one teacher specifically). Many parents and students alike have complained in one form or another to the school board or school officials about these incidents. After getting nowhere, no responses (other than being blown off), and no action to remedy these situations. I feel that it is in the best interest of the students at Bolich to bring this to the media’s attention.

    Here is the situation:

Ms. Tracy Waehler has been a teacher at Bolich for at least the past four years, if not longer. During this time both of my children were subjected to verbal assaults by this teacher. During the time my daughter attended Bolich Middle School, I did not know the extent of the bullying being committed by this teacher toward any of the students, nor did many of the other parents that still have children in the school or in the district. For the past four years this teacher has terrorized the students of her class, verbally, mentally, and physically. As a parent of multiple children within the City of Cuyahoga Falls school district I have heard and seen some of these incidents take place. My daughter who is finishing her sophomore year was subjected to many of the same verbal assaults as I have seen and heard from other students, the same ones my son was subjected to this year. I have two children in the eighth grade at Bolich who will be moving up to the high school this fall. During this school year my son has endured repeated bullying, name calling, belittling, insults, and was physically pushed from the classroom by Ms. Tracy Waehler. Though I am not the only parent to have a child subjected to these types of behaviors and my son did not experience the worst of it. Other parents have had their children degraded and one student told if the school were in lock down because of a shooter in the building the student would be used as a ‘human shield’ because the student was “worthless” in her opinion. Other students have been called derogatory names, homosexuals, and other slurs. I am outraged that after contacting the principal and assistant principal at Bolich Middle School, Ms. Tracy Waehler was not so much as reprimanded for her actions. I am even more flabbergasted that after contacting the School District’s Superintendent and Human Resources Manager with multiple letters from other parents including mine, nothing is being done about this teacher. This district has already experienced an incident that went to the media because of bullying. We would expect as parents that our children would have to deal with lapses in judgment from other students; not from their teacher(s). Nor should we accept that these types of behaviors be tolerated by the school district for any reasons, tenure or teachers’ unions are unacceptable excuses for any such inaction on the school district’s part. I do not care if a teacher is part of the union or if the teacher has worked in the district for 25 years, this type of behavior from ANY school authority is unacceptable and should be intolerable by the school board. The district enforces a ‘zero tolerance’ policy on students, why not the same for teachers? I fear for any s

I come from a family of teachers so I know there are good teachers and bad teachers. I have heard behind the scenes stories that would disgust parents. I also know my relatives made sure their own children were placed in classrooms with specific teachers. If teachers want the right to have their own children in specific classrooms why shouldn't every parent have this right?

Much time and planning goes into the making of a classroom demography. The educators involved have access to necessary information to make a learning environment best suited to the individual child.

Your child's education is very important. If a parent feels a teacher is best for the child they should be able to choose that teacher.
