How do you think the Supreme Court should rule on Baby Veronica's adoption fate?

The Indian child welfare act ICWA was established due to non-Indian baby's being take From there parents by the states and legally sold through adoption agencies. Colorado is still doing that as we speak. The child was adopted legally by the mom but dad was in the military and didn't know she was born! The baby is t going to know her heritage or customs due to the adoptive parents being non Indian. What if a rich couple wants my kids is the state or federal government going to stop these people from stealing my indian kids? This was wrong

No one considers the child? Sounds really familiar when no one consider the children when they were ripped from their native families and cultures, cutting their hair and forcing them to speak English and forbidding their own tongues spoken, lording Christianity over them all during the termination and assimilation eras of the US Govt policy on Indians. As precious and innocent as this child is, the discussion is not an individual one, it is an insidious systemic discussion for how laws were not followed. This is very reminiscent of unobserved and broken treaties.

I wish this little girl all the love possible - may her self-awareness include who she is as a tribal member as a main construct of others.

No one considers the child. Why would you want to take her from the only parents she has ever known? The bio dad should have visitation and teach her about her culture heritage.

The sooner we abide by icwa the better for the child. Tribal children and their custody must be reckoned with this federal legislation. To simply say she should stay with the only family she knows flies in the face of who she is as an indigenous member of this continent insofar as a response to the genocidal treatment of these peoples in the past. It revolves around preserving 'endangered cultures'. Dropping the ball in the beginning does not require dropping the ball again in terms of icwa.

If the system had followed the law (ICWA)like it was meant to be followed Baby Veronica would not have ever left the tribe to begin with. Again the United States of America has failed it's first people. But, I guess we are just to passive as always and we allow you white people to always take things from us - even our children. When are you going to stop?

Veronica should be raised by the family that has adopted her and has raised and been there for her for the past 3 years, it's all she knows. But I do think that the biological father should be a presence in her life. She and he should be able to have a relationship even after all that's happened.
