where were all the "people" when Casey Anthony found not guilty of murdering her child? Same judiciary system used! Why now?

  • Boss Frogg - 11 years ago

What case?..should've got involved b4 the verdict

  • Florida state of unjustice - 11 years ago

Hey "Ted" people do make mistakes.I really could care less what his name is so let me just address him as "the murderer" who walked. Am I emotional..yes..and you should be too. I pray that you and your family are never treated this way..because then you might want someone like me to care. "The murderer" was scared and intimidated as usual by a 16 y/o black boy who was walking home. He wasn't jumping out of someone's window or breaking into a car. He was holding skittles!! The only reason he walked is because he had inside connections...justice my ass!!

  • Melanie - 11 years ago

No, the President should not get involved. I believe the jury reviewed the laws that pertained to this case and provided the verdict. What people need to do is have lawmakers in FL, and other states with similar laws, change those laws or vote them out of office. GZ was wrong for getting out of his car, I don't blame TM for fighting. I would have been scared and probably fought back too if someone was following me in their vehicle and then on foot. You have no idea what was going through that young man's head, I would guess he was afraid for his own life when the man started following him. Remember, he was 15, they don't reason like adults yet. It takes time and nurturing to learn those skills. More of this falls on GZ's shoulders than TM's. he is a grown man and had the ability to reason through getting out of the car and the what if scenarios. GZ was emboldened by his gun. He could've waited on police, period. Now we have a young man dead and a grown man that must live with the consequences the rest of his life (constantly looking over his shoulder). But at least he has his life, TM is dead and his family can never ever get him back. I pray for every family that loses a loved one to violence. I pray for our country, if we were ALL honest with ourselves we would recognize that we all have prejudices, preconceived notions of others, etc. and it's terrible. But it's a reality of our humankind that we should all work on within ourselves.

Hell no. Not his place. He should not be making any comments regarding the case.

Absolutely not, what makes Trayvon any more special than any one else. Millions of kids die every day. Parents need to let the Justice system do its job it was not racial. Zimmerman was defending himself from a 17yr old that kept beating on him even when neighbor came out and told them to stop Zimmerman screamed out to him (John Good) and Trayvon still kept pounding on him but no one including his parents won't look at all the evidence because they just want revenge! The mother Mrs Fulton is supposed to be a christion, well if she was that Godly she wouldn't want to get revenge. Both parents said we want the courts to make the decision of guilty or not and now that's not enough. They wanted him put in jail not justice and they will go to any lengths to get Revenge not Justice. Sorry but this case is no more important than any other.Tracy lied on stand said he never said it wasn't his son but 2 police officers testified that he said no not my son. Unless Zimmerman is crucified they won't be happy. That is discusting!!!

  • Trina Prozinski - 11 years ago

Hell no. Why is this verdict any different from the millions of other one's. Obama has other shit he can't even deal with.

  • George Zimmerman - 11 years ago

    Absolutely.

  • Sharon - 11 years ago

I feel for these parents, nothing can take their pain away, but they need to accept the facts. Zimmerman acted in self defense. They keep saying that Trayvon was un-armed, untrue, he was armed with attitude and fists. Those things alone can take a life. They keep portraying Trayvon as a sweet little brown boy (their words) that was doing nothing wrong. He was attacking the man, it was witnessed. Trayvon was a troubled youth from a broken home being passed back and forth between parents and different girlfriends, mom away in school, dad away driving trucks. He had been suspended from school several
times, issues with fighting, vandalism, truancy, caught with stolen jewelry, weed, guns. His mom had thrown him out of the house three times cause she couldn't control him. He was at his dad's cause he was suspended from school and was sent up to stay with him. Zimmerman didn't start the fight, he was a
wuss, said on the calls he didn;t want to confront anyone. I don't believe he wanted to shoot Trayvon but when Trayvon started kicking his butt he felt he had no choice, he screamed for help, no one did. He has to live with that for the rest of his life, his life is crap now, but yes, at least he has one. This was never a racial issue, it was an issue of law and evidence. It is not about Stand Your Ground, that was not used, it was a case of self defense. Trayvon was 6'3, over 150 pounds, he would be intimidating to anyone. Zimmerman shouldn't have followed, but that's not a crime. Trayvon shouldn't have come back to fight him. It was a tragedy on all fronts. I think the saddest part of all is that the race card had to get thrown out there and all this nonsense in the streets. This was not about race, George Zimmerman had mentored black children, he had a black grandparent, black friends. This got blown up by Crum, Jackson, Sharpton who saw a chance to push their own agenda's for power and profit. And this plays right into President Obama's gun control issues. When will the American people both black & white stop being
manipulated by the agenda's of people who are not interested in their well being. Now it is politics and ignorance. Black Panthers want to kill whitey, Obama's puppets are trying to take the guns. Obviously we all need to work harder to get along and understand and support each other, but this travesty is going to set back race relations by decades. This is a disgrace to Trayvon's memory to be used this way. We need to work on family values, being there for your children, teaching them respect and dignity for others and themselves.

  • Andy - 11 years ago

No, the president should not get involved. He is black, he already caters to many blacks and tries to please them. If he gets involved, it will just create real racial issues.

  • erik - 11 years ago

Im so sorry for the loss of Trayvon but you cant have the President override a local jury...changes the whole justice system

  • Ted - 11 years ago

Hey "Florida state of injustice", you called him "Andrew Zimmerman", it's George Zimmerman genius. People that don't know the facts, let alone the acquitted suspect's name shouldn't comment.
America has a jury for a reason. Take the emotion out of it, look at the law, and follow the instructions from the judge, that's what the jury does. If people were convicted based on emotion the jails would be filled. The trial's over get over it.

  • anonymous - 11 years ago

What are jurors for if all we want is the presidents approval or disapproval? Profiling is not illegal in any shape or form. Or should I say in any race. It just so happened a young black man was shot in a gated community that has been having break ins and vandalism, by a security officer for which it is their choice to carry a weapon. The jurors even said that race did not play a role, well that is totally up to society to believe whether it is or isn't. All this stuff on the news is getting rediculous. The testimony is over and done with. GZ was standing his ground, and what if he didn't have a weapon, would he be dead too? Would it have gone this far if the tables were turned. There's a million other questions that are still on the table.

  • Florida state of unjustice - 11 years ago

Yes!! I believe that the President has an obligation to protect the citizens of the US. To allow a man to stalk...assault...and kill a innocent young man is a slap in the face to what this country stands for. Truth be told if the young man was white he would have never been racially profiled and murdered. Andrew Zimmerman would be behind bars and no one would think he was just "protecting" himself. He was asked by the police to not approach the child. He decided not only to approach him..but get out his vehicle with a loaded and cocked pistol and commit cold blooded murder. This happens everyday all over this country...this time they displayed it for the world to see. The message is ...we can get away with anything. This is a sad time for Americans and we should all be ashamed.... he was a child.

  • Lily A. - 11 years ago

Absolutely not that's why we have a justice system. The president has enough on his plate. Americans need to take charge of their own lives. Minorities should stop playing into stereotypical behaviour. There are so many African-Americans who grew up in tough neighbourhoods but they made choices to leave and make something of themselves. The rest of the country needs to focus on reducing the amount of gun violence coz quite frankly it's an epidemic in my opinion. Honestly, I don't know why US isn't up there, with the most dangerous countries in the world to reside in!!! Anyhow, There was no justice for Trayvon. How can a man be acquitted when he shot an unarmed boy!!!!in the bloody name of self-defence!! What's wrong with this WIDE WILD WORLD!?

  • JaMa - 11 years ago

What is clear to me: Zimmerman is a provocoteur who wanted to kill a Black Man. He has now done that to the glee of many who have posted here and to all those who want to bring back the Plantation mentality of the Old South. Or should it be said the New South - Florida (??), [The state that steals national elections]. It is an unsafe state for Black men. This was a jury of white women looking out for a White son, not the Black son. Obama needs to get involved and send a message that the old south is gone never to return. Black people lives do matter and will not be considered lesser than when killed repeatedly by White police officers and White bums with a gun (Zimmerman) (Is one a man when they kill a childreb with nothing in their hands but skittles??). This is a privitol moment for Obama. The postings here are also another demonstration of the lack of Internet access in poor minority neighborhoods. This persistent problem always places bias in the results, but always causes a surprise when the poor minorities go out and vote.

  • farfy - 11 years ago

This has nothing to do with the president. Its a big NO!! Its over, please let it go.

  • Rob McLeod - 11 years ago

No the trial is over, we should get over it too.

  • Lindy - 11 years ago

Absolutely not!!!! The jury was given the evidence, they were given instructions, they made a decision. This is how the justice system works.

  • chuck z - 11 years ago

No he should not get involved the jury made their decision and its something we have to live with. This trial just goes to show how racially divided rhis country still is.

  • Carol - 11 years ago

Obama should stay out of it. He didn't get involved when my child passed. This is NOT a SYG, it's self defense. For all those tearing Zimmerman apart, what would you do if someone was slamming your head on the concrete. I feel terrible for Trayon's parents. What's being done and said, using his name as an excuse, is disgusting. The problem is not color -- it's behavior.

  • Sheree - 11 years ago

No other parent should have to worry about sending their child off into the world and someone taking their life because of the way they look or the way they are dressed . We also need to do something about this ridiculous stand your ground law.

  • Angela Rohrer - 11 years ago

No! It's done! The jury has decided. That's why we have these laws. It doesn't always make everyone happy.

  • Heidy D. - 11 years ago

We there is an issue that causing succh a great uproar fromthe citizen of the country it is the Presidents duty to get involved to make sure this issue can find some type of resolution even if it means calling for an ammendment to the Stand Your Ground Law. GZ was clearly the aggressor and TM was Standing His Ground but lost the battle so how is the law just if the victim is criminalized for defending himself from a predator just because he lost the fight. I understand the verdict is not guilty but the POTUS needs to make sure such an incident can not be repeated.

  • Shawn Mcdowell - 11 years ago

The random, subjective, arbitrary and capricious manner by which law enforcement, judges and juries apply SYG, does more to endanger the public than protect it. When one views the statistics, white defendants who claim self defense under SYG are 17 times more likely to be found not guilty, than a person of color making the same claim.

SYG violates the EQUAL PROTECTION CLAUSE of the 14th Amendment as all thats required is that one "FEELS" threatened prior to squeezing the trigger.

  • BIll - 11 years ago

I just clicked to see the results. DANG! No is outnumbering Yes about 10 to 1

  • Christine - 11 years ago

No! And why is the Martin family addressing their son's racism? "Crazy ass cracker" why is Zimmerman being targeted as a racist & no one addressing black youths racial slurs???

  • Todd Koch - 11 years ago

POTUS needs to get involved because it's his son. Lol

  • Dana - 11 years ago

    Hell NO!

  • Judy - 11 years ago

NO! This is our system and jury has spoken in accord with law. POTUS has other things to worry about. GZ found not guilty period. Accept it and move on

  • Chris - 11 years ago

Seriously? Out of ALL murder cases, why this one? What makes this one SO special that the President needs to be involved? Instead of worrying about one case, we ALL need to start looking into how Obama is ruining this country. Havnt noticed that the country is crumbling peice by peice? Well stop worrying and spending so much time on this one particular case, and realize whats happening "outside of the box". REALIZE the US is in a crazy debt AND the President is sending what, 8 billion dollars (or something like that) to fix Africa? How about using that money to help the AMERICAN people!!! The people that needs his help are right in his backyard, and he is completely ignoring us.

  • Dianne93101 - 11 years ago

He shouldn't but he will because he has already. He isn't interested in really leading and probably doesn't do much policy work beyond signing tyrannical executive orders and house bills . His favorite pastime is rabble-rousing. Remember, the ppl elected a community organizer- nuf said!

  • Ashlee - 11 years ago

Obama need not to get in this. The Check & balance system separate the power. If people knew more about the system this would have never been a question. Every body complaining about Zimmerman not being guilty. Need to talk to thier state law makers. Change the law & you'll get a better results.

  • Juan A - 11 years ago

The jury made their decision. He should in no way get involved.

  • Marge - 11 years ago

This needs to stop! GZ was tried and found not guilty. Accept the verdict, because there should have never been a trial in the first place. Race was not a factor, and stop lambasting GZ in the media. He acted in self-defense, as ALL the evidence points to.

  • Yojimbo_VE - 11 years ago

Sure! Mr.President lets jail the bad man , who cares about the judicial system?! Thats what Chavez did in Venezuela and look how well are things going there! :D

  • Lisa Richie - 11 years ago

No way...these terrible tragedies happen every day unfortunately. One lost life is just as sad as the other! If anything the President and our law makers should review the law that allowed this tragedy to happen!

  • Mike - 11 years ago

Justice has been served with him being on trial. He was judge and found innocent by his peers. Leave it alone and move on and worry about fixing the economy.

  • Noam - 11 years ago

The Executive Branch has no business in the workings of the Judicial system.

  • Candis - 11 years ago

Definitely Not! He is already having a hard enough time trying to PLEASE EVERYBODY!

  • Beth Hardaker - 11 years ago

This case is OVER! Accept it and move on, people!

  • Jackie - 11 years ago

No-no-NO! The jury made their decision on evidence. He should definitely stay completely out of it.

  • Innocent Okpadile - 11 years ago

The president should not involved especially when he's black

  • EP - 11 years ago

No. As much as I disagree with the decision the jury made, it is not the POTUS' place to intervene.

  • Innocent Okpadile - 11 years ago

The president should not involved especially when he's black

  • carolyn - 11 years ago

    No.

  • Tyler - 11 years ago

Everyone needs to move the **** on , he was tried and considered inoscent , regardless of what people think... Obama needs to not comment at all on cases like this .. End of story

  • Doug Rozema - 11 years ago

That would Backfire Worse than Obama Care!

  • Jack - 11 years ago

No way, no how. "NOT GUILTY" remember?

  • kate - 11 years ago

checks & balances, separation of powers & all that

  • Kevin - 11 years ago

The system is fine-the prosecution stunk. The President should not get involved in this. It would set a bad precedent.

  • RM - 11 years ago

Now, that is absolutely crazy. The president cannot and should not get involved.

  • Cindy - 11 years ago

It's not the role of the POTUS. DOJ will finish investigation and determine next steps, if any.

  • ABC - 11 years ago

I bet Obama understands lot how Zimmerman feels - after all he did the same thing to Anwar al-Awlaki's 16 year old son what Zimmerman did to Trayvon Martin. THe only differnece is that Obama shot him in the face with missile.

  • Jenny - 11 years ago

What our government needs to do is appoint a director of the ATF, enforce gun legislation already on the books, repeal the stand your ground and similar laws and extend background checks at gun shops into gun shows and certain private sales.

  • Kenneth Underwood - 11 years ago

    No

  • quiffer - 11 years ago

Minority on Minority crime. But, suddenly one of those minorities represents the old majority. Blacks used to hate folks in hoods. Now they're claiming Hispanics hate Blacks in hoods. 50 Shades of Hoods.

  • SAM - 11 years ago

    I don't believe he should.

  • Acquilla - 11 years ago

No he should not get involved that's the job of the DOJ.

  • Danielle - 11 years ago

President should never get involved with state court cases.

  • DB - 11 years ago

No! Checks and balances. The president should never get involved with judicial matters.

  • Bob - 11 years ago
