If you ban weaves, you have to ban braids, bald heads, grey hair, etc.

This Pastor is preaching/teacher in error. He has allowed the enemy to take his opinion formed and make it law. That's call heresy. The bible tells us clearly to not add to, or take away from His Word, and he has clearly done that. Revelation 22:18- "If anyone adds to this book, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book, God will take away his part from the tree of life and from the holy city." You cannot altar or tamper a biblical text. I think that the Pastor has misinterpreted the Word of God. You cannot create a law that was not already created by God. When that is done, you have become a stumbling block. Your "calling" is based on the spiritual, not physical. We are to allow God to deal with the individual, not based on weave, but based on their heart. God has giving us a free will, It is never our job as ministers or pastors to take away that freewill. I am so glad that God gave us a choice to be in a relationship with him and he did not make us. He simply said come. Weave has no biblical foundation and therefore should not be up for debate.

He seems to me that he is more focused on the weaves than anything else. Try focusing on the real issue, I have a big problem with a pastor who quotes Lil Wayne of all people to make a point, and that is his only point of reference. Instead of weighing so heavily on Mr. Carter's words how about Jesus' words. Judge lest ye be judged. People wonder why the younger generations are pulling away from the church. Every thing is don't do this and you can't do that but no one ever talks to them about the real underlying issues. Suppose you have a young person who has cancer and she doesn't want everyone to know so she wears a weave to cover her hair loss. I guess she wouldn't be allowed to enter in to your church. Pastors need to preach the word that God has set in place and stop trying to come up with their own. And we need to study the word for ourselves so when we hear mess like this we know that is a bunch of mess. Yes, this is something the bible clearly speaks of, false prophets and the like. If Jesus had time, no took time to speak to prostitutes and the lowly sinners, and offer them salvation, then why are "pastors" wasting time worrying about whether or not someone has a weave or not. The phrase, "Come as you are" means just that and if how you are is having a weave then no one has the right to tell you otherwise. I don't care what they call themselves, because their name is not Jesus, and if it was He would not be telling you some stupid mess like that. God did not turn people away but we find more ways to tell someone they are not god enough. Study to show thyself approved and to know truth from foolishness.

Who's to say that this pastor is not living above his means, and personally speaking, who cares. He should focus on the important things such as leading people to the truth, praying for people, visiting the sick and shut in etc... If he did more of these things, then he would have less time to focus on the wrong things. What, are these young ladies causing him to lust? Is he peeping into their bank accounts to see what they can and can't afford? Unless he is going to school to become a licensed cosmetologist, hair should be the least of his concerns.

The lord says come as you are. That means in the natural or in weave. I think it is wrong to ban someone just for what they have in their hair. That should not be the main focus on the lords day and apparently that is the preachers main focus. Because if it was truly on the congregation and teaching the word it wouldn't matter who has weave or not. Weave does not bean low self esteem, it simply means the wants to try different things. Now I do agree with him on the female with the $300 weave there comes a time in life where priorities have to set in and if that $300 could have went on a past due electric bill and you got your hair done instead., well I hope your hair looks well in the dark.

I find it hard to believe that our Heavenly Father concentrates on the condition of our hair; the house of God is a hospital for the soul.
It is inappropriate for anyone to judge the appearance of those attempting to fellowship in a house of prayer. It sounds as if the pastor has an individual opinion of the mother with the $300 extensions; should that be the case, he should address her and not generalize.
I have witnessed many people (men an women) in the congregation and the pulpit alike wearing hair pieces and such.
We are called to fellowship with believers, repent of our sin and spread the good news of Christ; not to misjudge anyone.
Let's just pray for the minister and his congregation.
