If they have set their security settings on their facebooks to allow only friends to see their posts, can the school still monitor their posts. I would think that only posts that are public can be monitored.

It's a parent's job to raise there child to respect others not the government. There are a lot of parents that need teach there childern respect for everyone and everything. Too many young children have no respect or rules. I believe the government should punish the parent for there children's actions, the kids are getting there bad attitudes from the parents.

Fair game that anyone is monitored at any time for any reason. You CHOOSE to give up your privacy the second you post online. Want privacy go meet at a coffee shop and socialize in real life. What happened to human interaction?? I find it pathetic anymore.

If for only this reason.Not to be held against them when they mature enough to find a job.All kids do stupid things till they grow up.
