I have to agree that Chiefs fans are some of the most obnoxious, rude and filthy mouthed people I've ever encountered. I took my mother to a game against the Denver Broncos many years ago and was so embarrassed for her to hear such filthy language. It's sad that the behavior continues. My apologies to the out-of-town guest.

I'm from Texas, but have family who lives in KC... In addition, I'm a Pats fan!! (Hold the opinions ;) to each their own, aye!!) lol. I love football, so I don't care what game my family goes to see, I'm there!! :D Arrowhead stadium is BY FAR the FUNNEST stadium I have EVER been to visit. Every football game has loud obnoxious fans... To be honest, I haven't been to one yet that don't have those select few that makes you want to shove a hot dog into their mouth just to shut them up. Really... its all about the experience. Every where you go has good/bad experiences. I would say if you don't like crowded areas, a stadium is the place you DON'T want to be. My experience at Arrowhead was fantastic!! I still wore my Tom Brady burnout tee (even with the pats not playing at Arrowhead) I sat on the Chiefs side with my family and this crazy (drunk) chiefs fan pick me up out of my seat, laid one BIG kiss on my cheek with his red painted face when they made a touch down. I didn't know this man a day in my life. Its ALL about team spirit, KANSAS has AMAZING team spirit, and that man made my day. He was so funny!! I wish I would have got his name and facebook, cause I would say HEY HOW ABOUT THEM CHIEFS!!! Keep what you are doing Kansas, I wanna come back one day soon. ♥

At least Chiefs fans don't throw batteries at the opposing fans, as the Raiders fans do...I've been to several different stadiums and every single stadium I have visited has had rude and unruly fans. It truly is unfortunate, but this mother cannot right off one fan base because of one bad experience. I have seen fights breakout in every stadium parking lot. I have been cursed at, flipped off, you name at every stadium I've visited. At a Cowboys game in Dallas I was spit on (chewing tobacco) and a beer spilled on me. I was 11.

It happens but it doesn't represent the entire fan base.

I honestly think that since we are 7-0, the chiefs fans are at there worst. But dont judge them, were on a role, so i know that it could be bad but we are just showing our team spirit!

    *GO CHIEFS*

Iworked in concessions several seasons . people were rude. I finally started working in the back, cokking pizza, etc, just so I didn,t have to take it anymore. I moved away from the city 28 years ago. Unfortunately small towns can have a lot of rude people.

My husband and I are huge Chiefs fans and we quit attending games about 7 years ago. Why? Because there are enough obnoxious fans in every section that no matter where you sit you have to put up with their crap all afternoon and it ruins the experience for everyone around. We were tailgaters too and would have a couple of beers and food before the game, but a LOT of people are s%*t faced drunk by the time the game starts and then they drink more in the stadium. And they will say they pay for their tickets just like everyone else, but that shouldn't give you the right to scream obscenities in people's ears, spill beer on them (because you are too drunk to hold onto your cup), make families with children uncomfortable, etc. It has gotten out of hand, there are just too many there that act like they are at an outdoor bar. rather than a sporting event where people of all ages attend. It's disgusting that a about 5% of the fans have to ruin the experience for so many because they have no manners.

Thank you Joe for proving my point about obnoxious, classless Chiefs fans. Believe me, I will be more than happy to stay home from now on. And perhaps you should learn to read and comprehend English. I said I do not dislike the Chiefs, just their fans.

I was at the Chiefs game as a Texans fan on Sunday traveling with the Texans group . We drove in from Houston excited about coming to such a cool stadium. I was with another woman and my 13 year old son. Walking through the tailgating area to get to the Texans tailgate event was ridiculous. I have never seen so many rude, classless people in one place. We were walking , smiling, not saying a word and we were hit with a football, hissed, cursed, screamed at, taunted, honked at. Inside the stadium things were thrown at us, more cursing and so on..... I am a Probation Officer and have seen it all, and the KC fans were worse than inmates and parolees, even children following their parents with this type of behavior.

To the person that commented about our complaints being because of losing... you are ridiculous. Grow up. I have been to many stadiums and never seen anything like this, those KC fans should be ashamed of themselves. Ya'll have a cool city, but your fans are childish at best, shame on you!!!

Julie: Glad to hear that we won't have to tolerate you at any more of the Chief's games. Since you don't like them anyway, stay home.

  • Joe - 10 years ago

She's just mad because her team lost. Next time she should stay home. Those seats would be better occupied by more Chief's fans.

I live in Louisburg and went to the KC/Dallas game this year as a Dallas fan, which I've been since age 12. I, of course, wore my GO BOYS t-shirt. I was taunted, cussed at, and told to my face in the parking lot after the game that "Cowboys fans suc* di*k." I grew up in MO and have never been a Chiefs fan. I do not dislike the Chiefs, but I have great disdane for Cheifs fans. I will NEVER go back to that stadium.

Unfortunately this is a problem everywhere. Its a shame it happened here in one of the best hospitable cities. I have seen different things happen at arrowhead, more good than bad. Sorry it happen to you with the morons who sat by you. However arrowhead has always been one of the friendlier stadiums compared to say raiders just to mention one....

I have three things to say:

1- To this family: This behavior is not representative of our city. There are many obsessed fans here that think that somehow they can take out their emotional problems based on the W-L record of the Chiefs. There was even a man who shot and killed his brother a few years back b/c the brother was a Broncos fan and the Chiefs were losing the game. Yes, there are crazy men here who get drunk and think they actually PLAY or COACH the team. The live in la-la land. How do I know? I used to be one, albeit not the drunk type. I apologize for every rude fan here.

2- To Clark Hunt and Arrowhead security: You know people tailgate starting at 6am. You know the history of some of the fans here. Why is it that your efforts stop at having fans text security if there is a problem. You should hire extra security to walk each and every section during the game. Or, have them pose as fans, incognito. That way the drunks will at least know that there may be a security guard listening to their foul mouths and rude behaviors. Let's clean up Arrowhead, Mr. Hunt!

3- To Fox 4: As a former journalist, I understand trying to increase public awareness about a problem. But let me ask you this. Where in your story is the part about random guys showing up to a non-Raiders game in a Raiders jersey, starting fights and being rude to normal, innocent Chiefs fans? Where's the part about rude Chiefs fans being rude to innocent Chiefs fans?????

  • kristin - 10 years ago

There are MANY Chiefs fans who are unruly, drunk and obnoxious, which is why I do not go to those games anymore and if I ever go again I would never take my children.
If she wants to have a great sporting experience in Kansas, next time she should go to a T-Bones game! They are very fun and family-friendly, and the fans are genuinely nice, sober and having a great time!
Plus you don't go bankrupt attending a T-Bones game unlike the ridiculous amount of money it costs to go to a Chiefs game.
Love the Chiefs winning season - hate the rude, drunk, obnoxious fans.

    1. I think your polling data is going to be skewed. 2. I've been to 2 games with my parents who wore opposing team gear. The cheifs won both times, and both times the fans got in my parents faces, yelling obsenities. My parents were simply walking out to the parking lot. We'll never go back.

with all her mans problems she should have stayed home shes just upset we beat her teams ass and have the loudest and rowdiest fans

I am very sorry this family had such a bad experience at Arrowhead. I truly believe the majority of Chiefs fans are friendly and kind to visitors at our stadium. Unfortunately, they encountered the immature, rude fans and they gave our city and stadium a great big black eye. I am totally ashamed that happened to such a lovely family. Please don't think that all our fans are like that, they most certainly aren't! I wish you would have been in my area where we treat others with the respect they deserve.
