I don't see why Rooney shouldn't play and I don't get all this hate towards Rooney,
he is Englands top goal scorer and lets not forget he set up the Sturridge goal ! If you watch the Italy game properly you can see that he didn't actually play that bad and he was out of position. He has been putting an extra shift in training, after the Italy game Hodgson gave all the players a rest and Rooney said no I want to train. Let's stop putting all this pressure on Rooney to perform then maybe he might just suprise you !

im not sure about rooney if he deserve to play vs uruguy .he always fail infront the goal damn it . he did the same wrong with man united in champions league when they lost. he fail to make goal as he did vs italy .so if there any sharpshooter else rooney lest play if there no one keep roony try his luck and broke that partition .but i blame the england in all the way how they lost a good sharpshooter like Micheal Owen .he the best as sherer :(

Its easy to blame one player for the result but it is still a team game and more than one player didn't turn up for the match rooney was bad but to be fair he was in the wrong position the defence was fine and as for the midfield it was non existent sterling didn't bother, gerrard (captain croc) and henderson were to busy giggling with each other to take part in the game so I think roy has to make some changes to the midfield put Rooney up front and put barcklay on from the start

For a start neither Rooney should've played out wide or Sterling in the middle. And if anyone should be dropped it should be Gerard for Barkley. I know he's the captain but England's best 11 is one without him, and frankly he shouldn't be the captain anyway. Anyway personally I feel Sterling would be better tearing up the wing and Rooney doing what he does best at no10.

are you nuts!! Sterling in no.10 nd rooney on the wing, worst decision. Even Moyes will laugh at this decision. Sterling nowhere fits no.10 role. Proof are his misses for Liverpool. Rooney is best at 10 and only player whom opposition fear at hearin the name. So stop blamin him. He should start. He is the best. Drop sterling play lallana out wide. And Rooney at 10.

Biggest load of twaddle yet. Sterling is with out doubt one for the future, but saying he is a better 10 than Rooney is absurd. One game and all of a sudden the kid is a world beater. Twaddle
