Should BidBuddy Be Required?

I have to admit, I am surprised at the number of NO votes for making Bid Buddy mandatory. I know a lot of people bid and win a lot of Bid packs but that's why I check www.allpennyauctions.com all the time. You can check 10 bidders names daily for free and see their bidding history and their wins. If they constantly bid in Bid packs auctions, you can see that too. A few power Bidders have had their profiles removed so you cannot see theirs but all in all it's good to see how they have bid recently. I just get so tired of losing so many bids to the stompers and the newbies and I agree that I could be at even a higher level if I hadn't lost time to these kinds of players. I do not have the unlimited resources some of the other bidders do.
As for the colluders, Dealdash does have an awesome fraud department and they constantly monitor auctions, bidding patterns, etc. I know 2 bidders in particular had the same avatar, bio, state, and their screen name was similar and I recently found out that both of these profiles were shut down due to having multiple accounts so Dealdash does take that very seriously.
I do wish , like Barbara Sellers suggested, that Dealdash would make this a flash pop up message to get a much bigger response to this poll and see what more people think. Even if Bid Buddy is only required until you reach a certain Level.

I voted "other" - I wish that Bid Buddy was mandatory for your first few auctions. Maybe for your first week? Your first 20 auctions? Something like that, because I think that a lot of brand newbies just don't understand how Bid Buddy works. I know my very first auction I didn't know that you could open up the auction and see the list of the past few bidders, and see the Bid Buddy interface. I was bidding from the home screen. I didn't even know what a Bid Buddy was. My fault? Definitely. But also I feel bad about bidding after every single person, I just didn't know what was going on.

Also, side note---- PLEASE EVERYONE report Team Bidding/Collusion. I sent in a detailed report including screen shots of some cheaters 2 days ago. I haven't heard anything back yet, but if more people report hopefully there will be more investigating done in general. I am SO ANGRY at these cheaters being allowed to cheat it makes me want to use up my bids and stick with the other 2 sites that I bid on...But...Deal Dash I love you, please investigate my report!

I am for the bid buddy only all the way, you can withdrawal at anytime.I am so tiered of the jumpers, it wastes there bids as well as mine, and it has become a huge problem lately not just with newbie, but with alot of the veterans as well. I like the idea of putting them in there own "bidding section" if you will, until they reach a certain level. Its also fair. There are newbies that have only been on a week, and have won a $5000 ,$2000 pack laptop, high value items, I have been on 6 months and I am greatfull for everything I win, but it is getting very hard to do just that. I have only made 6/6 3weeks in 6months and have never made 3/3 that is sad, and it is not for lack of trying, belive me. I had to take a break for a week because I was getting so upset, forgetting it is for fun, but it is real money, my money, and trust me, its a treat to buy bids,, you have people that meet there quota in 1 day every week. Winning every 1000 pack and 300 pack and if they don't win they bin it, call it jealous or ridiculous but I don't have money like that to buy every 1000 or 300 pack I lose to get bids back.I'm on leval 26 but I dont feel anywhere near where I should be. And some days I wonder if I didn't get jumped everyday, in every item, what level would I real be at?? But YES make bid buddy mandatory! Thanks for reading my blabber.see you at the auctions :-)

I use Bid Buddy, but I also monitor the auction I'm in. The abuse of bid buddy I see is the stock piling of bids from winning in bid pack auctions. As an example, yesterday I was monitoring a bid pack auction and one person was in the auction using Bid Buddy for more than 12 hours continually, that's a lot of Bids, and he was also participating in 2 other Bid Pack Auctions.
I think all Bid Pack Auctions 800 bids and over should only be allowed 1 win of that type Auction in let's say every 8 months to a year. This will somewhat control bid stocking.
I agree their are teams bidding together, I just haven't found any, but I Haven't been looking.
I also believe people bid on things to sell at a profit elsewhere. I myself bid on products that I will use myself and not sell.

DealDash is the third penny auction site I have played on and definitely like it the best. However though, it has become very popular and every day there are new plays that just stomp and over bid. I am a Level 25 player here and do get annoyed with these new bidders (and some old bidders) that don't understand advantages of DealDash and cost me getting my free bids and deals at the lowest prices.

I really believe there needs to be some kind of training for all new players. I would like to recommend that until a player reaches Level 6 that they can not bid on anything valued over $24.99. Also make Bid Buddy mandatory during this training period only. This will help teach them the value of Bid Buddy, the clock, and how to earn extra bids. This can be accomplished in 1 day. Then once they reach Level 6, they can bid however they want to.

P.S. Not nearly enough customers have voted here to give DD reliable feedback. No doubt, it is because not too many customers go here to check out what's posted, so not many customers know about this poll.

Suggestion: I periodically receive an instant flash message on my screen from DD asking if I would recommend DD to others Could you send a similar flash message asking this question to receive a wider response?

I definitely think this is an excellent suggestion, and I am surprised any experienced bidder would vote against it. I, too, love to have freedom in when and how I bid. However, if everyone were required to use BidBuddy we would still have he freedom to add or delete as many bids as we want. If no one could bid stomp, that would be great. If this idea were implemented, it would almost force bidders to be polite because they would have no choice but to let all bidders to have our time on the clock.

From a customer's perspective, I would love it if everyone would be required to use BidBuddy because then the only way bidders could win would be by using more strategy and less intimidation. For me, Newbies who bid stomp take the FUN OUT of playing. When Newbies bid stomp, my bidding experience is no longer fun. Instead, it becomes frustrating and stressful.

From a business perspective, DD might make less money by implementing this because most likely
DD makes a lot of money from Newbies who do not yet know how to play. I feel certain it would not bother most companies in the least to take advantage of Newbies like this because it is the bidders own fault for not reading the information out there, asking questions and learning how the system works. At the same time, I might expect more from a "fair and honest" company not to take advantage of Newbies like this. I feel certain that when Newbies bid stomp, they run out of bids a lot faster, and therefore, end up buying more bids. When Newbies bid stomp, they also drive up the closing price of the auction. On the other hand, when Newbies bid stomp, they also drive some experienced bidders so crazy that we give up and leave the auctions.

Could DD do a test run on a trial basis to see what would happen? I wonder if DD could set up a control group of bidders, like a limited, selected group who are invited to try this out where everyone is required to use BidBuddy.

DD has truly one of the best customer support I have EVER seen. They get far to little credit for the outstanding job they do. I want DD customer support to know I truly believe and respect them. NO DD players should definitely not be required to use bid buddy, everyone has the right to play as they wish!

  • ralwerre - 10 years ago

Absolutely not! This is an auction, folks. It isn't about fair, it is about winning. I use my bid buddy, but I also watch as the auction plays on. If someone wants to waste bids, let them. Sometimes I will withdraw my bids until they go away and sometimes their constant bidding runs them out as well as the buddy users I am competing with, thus I have a chance to step in and win.

I like the idea posted above about a chat area. I see other bidders whom I have competed against and would love to say hello to.

When these "yahoos" run out of bids early, they will (hopefully) learn a valuable lesson. Meanwhile I'll sit back with my bids in place with BidBuudy & take over when they have nothing left.

I would like to see a "chat" area fr each item. Bidders could talk abd express ideas and/or opinions. Bid Buddy should remain an option, not something that is required.

Dealdash has a fantastic fraud detection team. If anyone ever suspects "teaming" they should email DealdashSupport.com and report a suspected case. They WILL investigate! I have done 2 reports where they were caught and dealt with so I clearly know this.

I have been a bidder since 2011, I dislike jumpers, but people should have the right to play the way they wish. In addition they rarely win auctions. There have been times I have avoided a auction because of 2 or more jumpers at the same time, and again they rarely WIN. I would be more concerned about players
from different locations playing as a team, which without a doubt exist?

P.S. Where there is gambling there will always be people trying to take advantage?
