The poll isn't to try and pigeon hole steampunk into a particular style of music, It's a simple exercise to see what style of music people think captures what steampunk is about. I personally think it's classical as that was what was around the most in Victorian times. I also love Chap-Hop and I think Professor Elemental and Sir Reginald PikeDevant do a great job along with the others. But that's not everyone's belief and that's what I was curious to discover. :-)

No genre of music captures steampunk best. The true nature of steampunk is eclectic in style. The lyrics, the story told by the music, is what makes it steampunk. That story can be told in any style, language, interpretive dance or model of airship.
