I think marijuana should be legalized.people drink and drive everyday causing fatal accidents from a substance that was man made.not to mention the bar fights, the domestic abuse and even child abuse that's been going on for centuries but never once mentioned banning alcohol because the government makes so much money off of dui's and other criminal activities due to alcohol abuse. marijuana is a plant that's grown and help millions of people everyday that has chronic pain. This plant should be legalized and maybe this could save a lot of lives for people who abuse prescription drugs because of chronic pains.

I deal with cyclic vomiting syndrome also known as abdominal migraines. My doctor is aware that I s of medicat to keep symptoms at bay and she said the majority of the patients with my condition self medicate as well. What I consider drugs is the crap they put me on such as amitriptyline (which failed) or imipramine which also is a failure. All they can do by lay is keep switching my mess and raising the dose. She cannot prescribe me myranol because of guidelines or I guess indications for use such as HIV or cancer... Every morning I wake up very nauseous and dry heaving sometimes the symptoms turn into an episode lasting 5-7 days. Why should something natural be kept from me? Is it fair for me to risk jail or stay sick and end up on disability? When will the law makers stop being so stupid and see the truth. If there was no medical benefit then the government wouldn't own the medical patents for marijuana nor would it's medicinal use date back to Egyptians. Federal Government LET MY MEDICINE GO!!!!!

Correct me if I'm wrong in what I understand, But even if it's legalized companies with still be able to have policies against marijuana and if you test positive you can or will be terminated ?? This is no difference in ow the laws are right now with Same Sex Married. State laws may make it legal but these companies that get the " Religious exemptions can still refuse legally married same sex couples from adding the spouse to health insurance.

Marijuana has a potential for abuse, but I would not like to sacrifice personal freedom in the name of safety.
Alcohol has potential for abuse as well, but think about all the responsible individuals enjoying craft beers.

I think that responsible people will act responsibly, and reckless people will act recklessly, no matter what.

Marijuana is not dangerous; it only brings a bit of mental stress if done too often. It is fun, but too much of it is a bad thing. It has pitfalls like most things in life. Does that mean we should ban it for everyone? I think that's the wrong move.

I do not currently use marijuana since it is illegal, but if prohibition ends, I would enjoy it in moderation. I hope to see that era of freedom soon. I also hope to see more education about what marijuana, just like tobacco and alcohol (but not scare tactics that invariably get uncovered as ridiculous falsehoods).

I'm a 47yr old female who lives every second of every day in excrusuating pain. Thru out the yrs I've taken OxyContin & morphine for nerve damage n my spine & neck. The side effects of these particular drugs are over whelming. The state of our health care in the United States is an embarrassment. I have never taken or been associated with illegal street drugs. My drugs are prescriptions that medical experts have chosen to addict me to. They have masked my pain for 20 yrs. Recently I've experimented with the street drug marihuana. It has helped me sleep thru the night-made my pain tolerable & helped with the debilitating effects of prescription medication. It has also been my miracle for depression which is so common with chronic pain. My suicidal & homicydal thoughts are under control with the help of marihuana. Now I'm forced to break the law & feel the constant guilt of doing so. I'm so frustrated when having to explain what it's like to live in constant never ending pain & now the secret of why-only now-I find my life of pain truly manageable with the help of marihuana. Without the legalization of medical marihuana I hold our country to blame for the mental anguish created from pain. The guilt of assisting street criminals who sell more than marihuana is put on the hearts & shoulders of the law makers.
