Why have you kept a Kindle/Fire when a new model was released?

I always get the new one

I didn't have the money

I didn't want the hassle of setting up a new one

Sentimental reasons

I wanted to keep the same model as someone else I knew

A feature I liked (like text-to-speech or a physical keyboard) wasn't included

I wanted it for reference (I bought the new one, too)

It's a waste to upgrade when I'm fine with the old one

I replaced a 1st gen fire with an first gen hd; gave 1st gen fire to my daughter who was using a nook. Her husband "adopted " it & is living happlie ever after! Mean while the nook died (battery) & only works on life support (plugged info power source)....how sad! Maybe next time she'll buy a fire!

There wasn't enough difference between old and new to justify the high price of the new one. (Specifically, the voyage)
