Empire is very soap operay. But is Taraji been extra sassy y'all how can you not love it! Plus I'm using Empire to wean my mom away from The Have and The Have Nots and other Tyler Perry ratchetry. Plus musically its pretty decent!

Empire is like watching a dramatic re-enactment of "Basketball Wives", "Real Housewives of Atlanta" - you know its stupid before you got in, so enjoy. Its Knot's Landing for Niggaz. Empire is only slightly more ridiculous than"How to Get Away With Murder" and "Scandal".
I watched the first two episodes on Hulu while working on those TPS reports on Saturday. Now, you could be offended by the on the nose homophobia, the caricatures of hip-hop moguls or the lack of nuance in anyone's performance. But I'm not a Salon writer and I've got better things to do than to look for a daily offense, I was able to laugh at its utterly stupidity without being overly offended. Also, me and the Misses are hooked on White People Ninja Ratchet aka "Revenge" on ABC, so who am I to talk?
