I think there may be something wrong with me. I think that emotionally I am on par with Dexter. When I see rape on TV, such as depicted in this week's episode, I don't really feel anything. For me, it's just TV. Great TV even.

I have almost quit the show so many times, because my least favorite things to watch are rape and torture. So, what, I ask myself, am I doing watching this show?! Earlier in the week I was sure I would not watch anymore. But, I think I actually will. My new rule is to be totally spoiled before every episode and make an individual determination about whether I want to watch what it is about. Reading is easier to take than watching images, for me. So I'm caught up thru #DemThrones and Twitter and several recaps, but I'm skipping this episode.

Also, I am the one who started #RapePlots, but I did it mostly to talk about when rape is portrayed well and when it's lazy. Like, Joan's on Mad Men worked for me because it told us something about her, her relationship, and her world during her time. On the other hand, I thought the Mellie plot on Scandal was very badly done. On GoT, we already know Cersei's was badly done, but it may be that Sansa's rape was not only inevitable, but also essential to her story. Not sure yet.

I think GOT's final scene was brilliant - it was meant to shock and upset people and shows the incredible talent of the show runners, George Martin and the actors. If you weren't bothered by watching a sweet young girl being brutally raped on her wedding night - you're probably Bill Cosby.

That said, could have a few choice words for folks who are 'done with' the show because Sansa was raped. This is a show that dedicated half a season to castrating a man, a pregnant woman getting stabbed in the womb, a man's head getting crushed, a kid getting tossed from a window after he witnessed freaking incest and AND ENTIRE WINTER COTTAGE DEDICATED TO RAPE!! And did we mention that one of the coolest character on the show.....IS A GOD DAMN PIMP? This sent you over the edge? C'mon son!

Look, the show is jarring but we've been in this Song of Fire and Ice game long enough to know this world is just horrible for everyone who isn't a devious rich, straight white guy. (Kind of like America...) And even said devious rich white guys get got in 'Game of Thrones' (unlike America...) The fact that this level of bleak torture porn keeps us all coming back for more shows just how damn good the show truly is.

    Phew. That's it, I'm done. I'm a little passionate about #DEMTHRONES. - Cappa

Hey Rod, Hey Karen (how doing sweetie?),

When I watched GOT last week I was shocked and really saddened for Sansa at the end of the show. Two things - 1 I NEVER thought I'd care about Sansa after she stumbled her stupid way through Westerose, but after what seemed like her getting her shit together, with the help of Lord Baelish, and growing up I caught feelings for her.

The writers managed to make her three dimensional and I think that's why it "hurt" so much to see her raped by that psycho, sadist. I can't WAIT for that mother fucker to DIE.. That being said - the scene does make me wonder what is actually going on in the heads of the writers and show runner. Not just because of the rape, but because HER rape seemed (in the story) to be chiefly about torturing Reek in a new way. I have a feeling Beniof and Weis are dudes I really don't want to know in real life. But yeah I'll be watching too much good in the show.

Take it easy - LOVE LOVE LOVE you guys and the Black Guy Who Tips podcasts in all it's many forms.

Hey Rod!!! Hey Karen!! * waving *

The end of this episode left me hugging my pillow and rocking back and forth for a while but I will definitely be back for next week's episode. I have been watching GOT since day one and I knew exactly what time it was with Sansa and Ramsey after the wedding. Watching that scene was a lot, but completely in line with the show.

This episode broke me but I'm still going back. I was completely wrong about them Boltons. I was legitimately shocked when Roose talked about raping Ramsey's mom the week before. I thought they were just flaying niggas, I didn't know they were like that. Even hearing that from Roose, I still thought that Ramsey was different. Most of the shit he has done has been crazy but rape is some next level shit. The thing that upsets me the most is that I still want them niggas to win the game of thrones. I think the main reason is that I've envisioned most of the characters I hate being flayed and they the only dudes that do it. The only thing I can do is not party if they defeat Stannis and celebrate in silence.
