If you born male, but your brain is female, society may accept. If you born Black, but prefer to be among Whites, society calls you an "Oreo." Now. If you born and live as an heathen, soon renew your mind and become a Christian, society calls you a hypocritical infidel. Damm society... You will never win. Who cares what she chooses to believe about herself. The greater issue is that she choose to live as a Black woman. She new her fair skin will open doors.

I think she should be fired for lying about being black. However the death threats are too far no one should have their life threatened. Maybe she has issues who knows but to threaten to kill someone for that is ridiculous.

it is her right to decide what race she is, NOT OURS!

Let her work, education and job skills speak for itself. If she is doing a good job and upholding the mission of the NAACP, then I say leave her alone. If she lied on her application for employment (more so the race checkbox)....she need to go! Escorted off the NAACP premises immediately. That's an offense and a crime is some states to lie on an employment application; eventhough it happens.

She should be fired, when did it become ethical to lie about who you are and to stand up for others when you can't eve tell the truth about yourself. She didn't have to lie, she chose to. Right is right and wrong is wrong. She needs to be held accountable for her acactions. It doesn't matter what she did, The fact that you she lied is ununacceptable. What else has she lied about...

A lie is a lie. She should be fired for lack of honesty, character, ethics, and morals. Period.

She should not be fire for saying she is black, because at the beginning when God created this universe, we all came from , Africa , their was a time that blacks would put on a job application, Negro , then it was , Black, then it was Color and know it's African American, so who have been lying to us about your race.

I think her works are what should speak for her and not the color of her skin. If not, that would be hypocrisy. Many people born black- even those in positions to aid their fellow man- do do not strive to make a difference in society. this woman actually. This woman of another race by birth was so moved to make a difference. If she didn't have to disguise herself, she wouldn't have but I don't think society would have accepted her in the NAACP position had she not. She most likely will be removed from the position but I don't think she needs to be crucified. She needs to be applauded.

I don't believe its about exposing deception! It's clear that her passion is geared towards the African/ African-American culture! She probably felt like she wouldn't be accepted as a white woman... and so she came disguised. Her works are still great and she has a lot of courage.. and I don't feel deceived at all! She seen a struggle and wanted to help, or so it seems! The only people that probably REALLY feels deceived, are her parents!

She lied on her application that is fraud. I don't care about her color, she should have marked the correct box. What else has she lied about?

  • Neva Whitfield - 9 years ago

If she is doing a good job at it her color should not matter. Also she could have some percent of black in her.
