After giving Datak Tarr the BEST character development I've ever seen on a show (as well as the best episode & title, "My Name Is Datak Tarr & I Have Come to Kill You", such an bad-ass character!) I truly hope that they bring this show back for another season. Everyone this time around had great moment & I thoroughly enjoyed the introduction of the Omec people & how they were these awesome flying purple Votan eaters.
As SYFY is not famously known for making the best decisions on what to & not to cancel (I'm still sour about them cancelling "Caprica" & "Being Human"), I feel that after such an action-packed, emotionally charged beginning that they should have an equally bad-ass ending. Though this last episode was really beautiful & very moving, I refuse to accept that THIS was the series finale & if they bring "Defiance" back for another season, I'm going to be clued to the TV as I have been since the very first episode aired.
I also would really love to see Alak & Irisa raising young Lucas. And the return of Joshua Nolan & how Amanda & the Votanis Collective will respond to his unexpected arrival.... with well-mannered "Aim to Misbehave" Omecs.

I agree with SPARKYSKR. The character development this year really made the show come together, finally!
I enjoyed learning about these actors and their characters, and wonder if I will ever see any of these people in anything else ever again. It seems just as we got to really know them, they are going separate ways now that the show is over.

Season 3 ended unexpectedly. I was looking forward to next season and the relationship changes that began to occur in season 3. This is one show I looked forward to watching all season and week. I thought the characters were all deep and had seen much growth these 3 seasons.
Perhaps if SYFY channel didn't play so much with the schedule and creating abnormal gaps between seasons the ratings would have increased. There was nearly a year gap between seasons. It is hard to keep viewers when you have a gap that is filled with crap shows. I would hope another entertainment group would pick up the show so we can see Defiance continue.
