An ASM would be awesome! After ASMing 9 shows in this past year, I can totally relate and it would be a great way to show people all that goes into the job. I can see it now- perpetual spike tape on the pants, having to untangle actors from the headset cord backstage, hearing 5 different people calling your name at once, cutting glowtape...the possibilities are endless!

So torn between an ASM and an intern. But yes, I think you need a crew person backstage - who isn't the costume designer. And while not on your original poll, someone who deals with the audience would also be great - box office or house manager. I'm the person who bought your original of the house to half...SIT DOWN! comic. Love it, and had the same situation happen to me (a stage manager) three days before the original came out.

Patron Services/FOH Manager would be pretty neat. Musical Director isn't a bad suggestion either. I voted Intern for similar reasons as below: cross department hi-jinx and because I would like to see them dressed up as a minion. I mean ... that's what every production intern wears for performances, right? ... right?

I voted for a scenic cuz i'm one, but probably ok not to have one in the comic cuz we are usually not seen anyway. Thanks for painting such a wonderful pic of backstage.
My ASMs (when I have one) inevitably end up being a production intern. So you could probably have some fun with that!

I love the idea of an Intern. Someone that can work with and for every member of the crew.

An intern in general or an ASM would be marvelous. But a Box Office Manager would be an interesting part as it shows the struggles with the audience that my aunt complaints about on a daily basis.

The costume designer is the only designer doing run crew - please add a wardrobe person!!! As a designer I love my wardrobe perps but I don't do their job.

It's not on the list, but someday I would love to see a children's theatre director or a music director (conductor). We tend to be a special kind of crazy... =D

Wardrobe! Because your designer seems to also do quick-changes, and I don't know a single costume designer who does that. Your scenic designer isn't on the run crew, so she shouldn't be either!
I’m an actor, almost entirely without tech experience, but, if I can be said to have a signature role, it’s Gloucester in “Lear”, and that has taught me a lot about respecting a makeup artist who can give you a terrible mutilation in seconds.

Can't wait to see who you add, Steve! Wish I could've voted twice ;)

Box office and Dramaturg are both very good suggestions since you already have most other departments covered.

Why not a dramaturg?
