I think this is a situation where if you skip the M your kid might feel left out. Especially if he/she spends times with cousins frequently and they are all similar age. If this baby was arriving 15 years after the nearest cousin I think you would be safe but that doesn't sound like the case. Plus.. There are so many M names that haven't been used yet. I'd like to suggest Morgan or Micah for a boy. For a girl.. Merritt, Margo, and love the Magnolia suggestion. Or Margaret nn Greta. You could look for an M name with a non M nickname too
