Are you concerned the legalization of marijuana will result in more impaired driving in Alberta?

    Enough bad habits and addiction.
What an encouragement by legalizing it. Shame on Trudeau. It's all about money.

The problem originates from perspective.older folk have a total different perspective on marijuana in general. Witch is understandable . They may have tried it when they were young but may try it now and feel it is super potent. Then because of that, will assume it's more dangerous. I get it . In time things become more advanced . They have shatter for instance , a very potent product. People of my generation who enjoy cannabis know a lot more about what they are putting in there body . They understand its affects could be strong . Many of my friends will not get medicated and drive, they understand they could put someone in danger. I don't think just because MJ will be legal it will make high people drive more . Seeing as they didn't do it before when it was illegal due to safety reasons and not so much due to actual conviction. Why would they all of a sudden feel it's any different . Alcohol is legal , but not when you drive. Marijuana is illegal when you drive and when you don't . Why would one change what they have been doing for years when it has gotten them this far already (alive today). Just a thought . I do realize that the law also is a big reason to why people don't get baked and roll around , but let's not be ridiculous, they aren't going to allow people to drive with marijuana in arms reach anyway so really what changes when it comes to driving under influence of Cannabis next to liquor drinks. Just the perspective .

We have needed a way to test for marijuana for a long time, now is the time it is finally come to a real need. waiting a month to find out if you are using is just to long. BTY we need the carbon tax, we must care for climate change, think of the future !!! ...ft. mac??

Is their fear base on fact or stigma.

I wish Gary Bobrovitz would get his facts a little straighter. Not all cannabis is the same. THC is the ingredient that causes a high but not all cannabis causes a high and not everyone who uses cannabis wants to get high. You find out why, Gary. Contact me if you want to talk about this. I am a 61 year old woman who is trying to substitute cannabis for morphine. I have researched cannabis in the same way I researched the prescription drugs I have been prescribed. Unlike some of the pharmaceuticals I have tried, cannabis has not caused severe side effects. And I do not smoke pot. I use a vaporizer. The media can get real lazy sometimes. Why not spend a bit of time on this subject and help educate people? Thank you.

Drivers can't drive now; all you need is another substance issue adding the list of problems when it comes to people behind the wheel. The government should not be wasting the taxpayers dollars by pushing through ridiculous policies or maybe this is just another tax grab.

Pat, Stop with the fear mongering. There is no evidence to suggest your insurance is going to go up. People drive everyday hopped up on far more impairing prescription meds everyday. What about somebody who has pounded a few redbulls or or just worked 16 hours and is over tired. Drivers who use cannabis are the least of your worries.

What will end up happening when Marijuana gets legalized is the Insurance Companies will have a field day, they are insuring every high driver on the road. Our premiums are going to go through the roof, look at the mess we will have in Alberta now then combined with the new NDP carbon tax, no one can afford to live.

    Pat
