Was Anderson Cooper right to apologize?

The comment was a little crude however, he was really only stating that Lord is in a blind spot with regards to Trumps position about Russia and sooo many other issues. I don't think Andersons comment was over the top though. The statement reflected the unbridled, impulsive, and ego driven actions of Trump that many of us feel are dangerous....Lord just blindly follows and the world has a history of this dangerous thinking.

Thanks to Anderson for the laugh that repeats every time I read or hear the remark. So true and so funny. Why apologize? There is no more political correctness or civility left in the US is there? My only criticism is with the fact that CNN actually gives Lord a platform. Can't a less ridiculous Trump supporter be found?

Why was that statement ok? Way too many "talking heads" are out there throwing their opinions into the mix! When the opinionis rude & crude, of course he should have apologized! People today just think it's ok to say anything they want about the President of the United States. However had people did that anytime during the last 8 years about Pres Obama, all hell would have broken out. some people sure are hypocrites!

No big surprise that Anderson would say something that cruel. First the eye roll then this remark. If you don't like the people in office, at least respect the white house and what it stands for. If trump walked on water, CNN would say he couldn't swim. Give him a chance, he has already done more with Syria and creating jobs then Obama ever did. Stick with the facts and not with what you wish it should be.

I can always count on Anderson Cooper - it was very gentlemanly (but,
in my opinion, unnecessary) for him to apologize - But Jeffrey Lord is
difficult to listen to - I believe Anderson Cooper said that he was aware
(I'm paraphrasing wildly) of Lord's allegiance to Trump and that was
admirable or that he admired that trait (I told you I was paraphrasing
wildly)), but there must be some unknown motive for that loyalty...
Anyway - I'm a fan of CNN and the well-spoken staff - I will stand by
them and appreciate some levity during these trying times.

It doesn't matter what context or to whom a reporter is speaking. They should never use that kind of rhetoric in any report, especially to an interviewee. They shouldn't, professionally, say something like that in an opinion story.

The comment is actually true. Having Lord on CNN is a waste of everyone's time. Can we ever take Lord as anything but a joke when he calls Trump a current dat Martin Luther King.
