Poll: Who should make decisions on imposing limits on pain medicine prescriptions?

My Dr was one of my biggest drug dealers. He was telling me that I needed the medication because of my diagnosis of myofacial pain disorder. Additionally I was diagnosed with restless leg syndrome. All of those diagnoses were incorrect. What I was experiencing was withdraw from the narcotic. How did the dr not know that. Even when I told him that I abused my meds and was beginning withdraw, he gave me another prescription to get me out of withdraw. Really?!!! When the prescriptions weren't enough I started buying off the street & began using other street drugs. I was crushing and snorting my pills at this point. Even with the doctor telling me I needed the medication, I finally realized that I was an addict. After calling 23 doctors to try and start a suboxene program, I was unsuccessful and gave up trying to get help. I continued using drugs even worse. Then finally... I had enough, I went against the Physicians advice and went to rehab. I am now 9 months clean and couldnt feel better!!!!!!! To anyone who is scared or has doubts about coming off the drugs... Just remember that you got this! You will feel amazing once you're clean. Its a hard road and it took me several months after rehab to feel normal. If it takes 100 yards to get in the woods, it will take 100 yards to get out. Be patient and know that the struggle will be worth it!
