Well, this is a pretty good discussion of it, but I believe that they screwed up and played the wrong sample. I think they mistakenly played one of the further - edited versions that the expert had supplied. Both on tv and on my cell phone, I heard this as yanni, whereas I always had heard this everywhere else as 'laurel'.
It is played near the beginning. I'd be interested in knowing whether most of you hear yanni here but usually laurel elsewhere.
