I'm a 41 year old Autistic man. I suspect those voting for "parents and caregivers" fail to realize either that we do grow up, or that we DO communicate! Many of us even speak, write, or use tablet computers for this. There are TONS of Autistic self-advocates on the internet!!! Especially FB, Twitter, WordPress, etc! Listen to us please because we're, currently, largely misrepresented by those parents and caregivers due to misinfo and stigmatization from bad "charities" (fearmongering by Autism $peaks, for one thing) making us out to be a class that is over-clinicalized, misunderstood, ignored, gaslighted, used and abused more than prior to their intervention, leading to this current anti-Autistic antivax woowoo nightmare. The history is sordid; they even silenced us when we spoke up... This is the current autism climate. Give us a fighting chance and hear Autistics! If you want to know how to treat an Autistic, then ask some Autistic people, thanks :) and if you want to help us, tell people there's nothing wrong with us! There's no such thing as a "cure" for autism. It's a scientific misnomer. A nonsense idea. Because autism is developmental and genetic.
